GUATEMALA MISSION TRIP 2010

“Group Mission”…..

We are being called to BE the church and share the goodness of God!..

My church in LA, Oasis Christian Church (www.oasisla.org), has partnered with an amazing organization, Food for the Hungry (www.fh.org), and adopted an area in Guatemala. We are laboring for Christ alongside Food for the Hungry to bring about transformation in their community. This is a long-term relationship with Guatemala and our goal is to share the love of Christ and in both word and action not only so that they know who He is but so they can see and feel His love in ways that we have been so blessed to know.

Many Guatemalan people are living in makeshift homes, and using the same water for cooking, cleaning and sewage. Most of the children are suffering from various stages of malnutrition due to the lack of protein in their diet. And sad enough, children are dying because this lack of clean water. Luckily, with financial support, prayer and laborers we are able to bring about restoration and change.

Each of us attending will be financially supporting a child in the adopted community we will be working to restore. This too goes directly to helping them get proper nutrition, vaccines and helps the community in general. Our team project this trip is to help build a retaining wall to protect the land and the community, as well as teach vacation Bible school to the children along with many other things.
